Last weekend as I was making the roof of my apartment into a squirrel-proof fortress, I ripped the knees of my jeans. After wearing the shredded dungarees around for the rest of the day, I decided I wasn’t the type of guy who can rock the ripped denim. The jeans fit me perfect and it seemed such a waste to let them go, so I decided to fix them up. After some research I came up with this solution to my ripped jean dilemma.

I love it! I’ve been known to keep wearing my favorite pairs of jeans until they pretty much fall apart. I’m excited to bestow some new life to a couple of pairs
That’s what I’ve been wanting to do!!!! But now you have to show me how to use a sewing machine (as if anybody would know how they work - hahahaha)
In addition you can sew nearly perpendicular to the tear using a straight stitch and zig zag back and forth across the tear by going forwards and backwards. These methods work pretty well for tears in fabric still in structurally good shape but wont do you much good if your jeans are really worn and thin. If you bust a knee out of a well loved old disintegrating pair this wont fix them for very long…
