For the last 3 years, I’ve made portraits by scanning people I know and then working with the 3D model and abstracting contours and creases and from the model digitally and then plotting the results on 1980s HP pen plotters. I have made about 30 portraits.

In the early 2000s I was painting oil paintings and while they were drying, I would sew these sad dolls. None of my paintings sold but all of my dolls sold. I considered making this a company but ugly dolls had just come out and I didn’t understand scaling past myself.
I used an ink dropper as a pen an got this type of fantastic changing line quality. I made many of these drawings on canvas but they are lost to time.
